Tadre mill

In the heart of the beautiful Elverdamsdal valley lies a historic watermill dating back to the 14th century, surrounded by woodland, meadows, streams and the old mill pond.

When the water sets the mill in motion
Feel the power of history as the water flows through the mill and sets the old millwheel in motion. Inside the mill, you can explore the historic milling machinery and see how grain has been transformed into flour over the years. On special mill days, the miller talks about the technology, the work and life around the old watermill.

Life around the mill farm
Tadre Mill is more than just a mill. In Mølle-Marie’s house, you can visit the cosy café and shop, whilst the mill farm and the historic buildings tell the story of life on the site. All year round, there are activities and events where old crafts, traditions and stories come to life for both children and adults.

Out into the countryside
Surrounding Tadre Mill lies the protected landscape of the Elverdalsdalen valley, with meadows, woodland, springs and small footpaths. Take the family on a nature exploration, go for a walk along the stream or settle down by the mill pond. Here, cultural history and nature experiences go hand in hand.
