About Copenhagen Museums & Attractions

Copenhagen Museums & Attractions is an association of 37 museums and exhibition venues in Copenhagen and the surrounding area.

Marketing

The association is a joint marketing collaboration where museums and exhibition spaces create visibility through distinctive communication initiatives. The joint marketing aims to increase public awareness of the members’ current exhibitions, events, offers and permanent collections – while strengthening the general visibility of the museums and exhibition venues. We are responsible for co-advertising in major Danish newspapers, online advertising and marketing in urban spaces such as airports, cinemas and metro stations. By joining forces as an association, we can obtain advantageous prices to provide offers that individual institutions might not be able to achieve on their own.

Networking

Every year, MiK hosts a series of networking events that allow our members to connect with colleagues from other museums, gain valuable insights into the operations of different institutions, and exchange inspiration, advice, and ideas. In 2025, we will focus on topics such as measuring the impact of communication efforts, navigating international press, and implementing effective strategies for maximising the use of various marketing channels. We will also invite experts to share their knowledge and expertise on these subjects.

Attendance is free for members of Copenhagen Museums & Attractions.

Web

Kbhmuseer.dk is the association’s website, offering a comprehensive overview and inspiration for exploring the world of museums in Copenhagen and the surrounding area. You will find descriptions of institutions ranging from the National Museum and SMK to Heerup and the Viking Ship Museum. In addition to the website, the association is active on LinkedIn, where we share regular updates, and on Instagram, where we highlight and promote our members.

The Guide to Copenhagen Museums and Attractions

Each year, we publish our iconic pink guide, offering a comprehensive overview of the cultural institutions and experiences in the Greater Copenhagen area. The Guide to Museums and Attractions is the perfect companion for your cultural journey, helping you explore and discover the best of what the city has to offer.

CURATOR

Through articles, interviews, and guides, CURATOR inspires tourists, expats, and English speakers to explore exciting museums and exhibitions throughout Copenhagen and the surrounding areas.

The secretariat

Copenhagen Museums & Attractions was established in August 2003 with the goal of increasing awareness of the museums’ collections, experiences, and offerings by showcasing and marketing them in innovative and creative ways.
